Nothing but a boy

In the beginning, there was nothing, nothing but a boy roaming on the emptiness of his existence. He wanted to see things he'd never seen, and feel what he'd never felt, and even not knowing what those things were, he just wanted to feel something different than nothing. Wandering on the abyss of the nothingness he was built in, asking himself if there was anything else to see, the boy was tired of being lonely.

But all of a sudden, he wasn't alone anymore, and with the blink of an eye, she was there. Her colors were vibrant, unique, he could see them through the emptiness of the Darkness, and what started small, quickly expanded, becoming the source of everything. Everything he once desired to see, he saw on her. Her beauty was inexplicable, her glare, immeasurable, the brightest thing to exist, the only thing to ever glow. She was the light. Her flaming colors were a perfect contrast to the only tone the Darkness had, they fitted perfectly, and as if they were meant for each other, mixing their essences, living in perfect harmony.

And there it was, the unknown feeling he searched for so long; it was as if a force united them, or maybe they had shaped this force together. They called it love. Every minute that passed, the Light seemed to invade every part of what he was, and as they blended more and more, they created the most unimaginable things. Dancing to their own chaotic rhythm, depending on each other to create the things they did.

And suddenly, as fast as it started, the Light seemed to dim, her warmth was no longer the same, and as they tried to fit together, they grew more distant. The Darkness was too intense and had no ending, so every time she tried to expand, it caused her light to dissipate. So, she vanished.

Empty. Everything seemed out of place, and the boy who once was complete returned to his original state. Or that was what he hoped for, but everything seemed to get worse, as if the space once occupied by the Light was still there, but only as the memory of something he once had, and a part of what made him complete, was replaced by the pain of losing her, and consequently himself.

He wanted it to end, he wanted to see his Light again, but it was impossible. Doomed to exist forever, in the end, there would be nothing but a boy.
